About the Library
The Westmoreland Public Library was started in 1987 and was then
located in the lower end of the V.F.W. building. It was first staffed by
volunteers. Ms. Willie Ruth Borders became the library's director in
October, 1987.
Through a group of people that later became known as the
"Friends of the Library", money was raised to build Westmoreland's current
library. The doors to this new library opened in July, 1991.
The library has grown since those days, and today it is in
the process of adding a children's room.

www.shmoop.com
This is an interesting web site for students and
teachers. The website provides study materials for selected
literature, poetry, and U.S. history topics. Below is part of
a press release Shmoop sent out:
"We're Shmoop, a new educational website for high school
and college students. A bunch of us (mostly Ph.D. and Masters students
from Stanford and Berkeley) have worked on this for the past
year-and-change. We opened our doors recently, and we're itching to ask
you for your 2 cents, shekels, whatever.
