Westmoreland Emissions Testing Schedule
A mobile emissions inspection unit will be in Westmoreland on the following dates. It will be located at the rear of the old police station at 5300 Austin Peay Highway.

The hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All dates are on Thursdays.
Severe weather or operational constraints may prohibit operation
of the testing unit. Call the hotline (615) 399-8995 to ensure that
the unit is operating.
About Emissions Testing
In order to renew tags for your car, your vehicle must pass a yearly emissions test if:
It is a
gasoline-powered vehicle 1975 or newer with a gross vehicle weight of 10,500
pounds or less. Weight information is located on the vehicle's door jam.
It is a
diesel-powered vehicle 1975 or newer with a gross vehicle weight of 10,500
pounds or less.
Vehicles from model year 1974 and before, electric cars, motorcycles, and
antique cars are exempt from testing.
There is one permanent emissions testing center in Sumner County which is
located off of Highway 31-E south of Gallatin. This is across the street from
Volunteer State Community College. The address is 951 Grassland Place, Gallatin.
There are also permanent testing stations in Murfreesboro, Franklin, Lebanon and
six in Davidson County which you are free to use.
The station in Gallatin is open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on
Monday and Tuesday; from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday;
and closed Saturday and Sunday.
The cost for testing at any station, including the van in Westmoreland, is $10;
cash only; no bills over $20. If you are renewing your tags in Tennessee, you
should receive a notice in the mail. You should take this with you when you get
your car inspected. If you don't receive a notice, just take your current
registration slip.
